On Sunday, Dec. 4, come enjoy an afternoon at the movies in celebration of the Feast of the Immaculate Conception (a Holy Day of Obligation celebrated on Dec. 8) hosted by our local parish ministry called The Magnificat: Beloved Children of Mary. After the 10 a.m. Mass at St. Mary’s on Dec. 4, Father Vincent will give a talk on the meaning of the Immaculate Conception in St. Mary’s Parish Hall. Coffee and juice will be served during this time. After his talk, The Magnificat: Beloved Children of Mary will serve chili and cornbread for lunch. Then Catherine Reimer will give a short introduction on a wonderful movie called “The Song of Bernadette” with Jennifer Jones that gives the true story of Mary’s revelation to Bernadette on the mystery of the Immaculate Conception. Enjoy lunch or other refreshments (like soda pop and popcorn!) as you watch the movie. Afterward, Barbara Adams and Mary Joe Spurgeon will provide discussion. Please come to a fun afternoon to learn about this beautiful feast day honoring our Mother Mary.
