Some might notice St. Mary of the Rosary looks a little different right now since our Restoring Beauty Project is officially underway. Last Monday, a group of very helpful parishioners helped move the six front pews into the back of the parish hall, which allowed the altar, ambo and tabernacle to move further forward into the nave. The contractor Bruce Appel then hung the heavy duty plastic (and a curtain from Chewelah Center for the Arts) to create a nice backdrop for the crucifix to hang and provide a divider for the sanctuary during construction. Parishioners also helped remove all the carpet and carpet staples from the sanctuary and the sacristy, and moved the sacristy items into it’s temporary location in the parish office. Thank you to Fr. Vincent, the Estelle family, the Osborne family, Jolene McGee, Kellie Trudeau, and Matt Cobb for helping our contractor prepare the new space so quickly, allowing him a chance to get right to work this week in the first phases of demolition and construction.
