Family Faith Formation Constancy of Purpose Statement
“The catechesis of adults … is the principal form of catechesis…. Family catechesis precedes … accompanies and enriches all forms of catechesis.”
--St.John Paul II
Vision
Rooted in the most profound teachings of the Catholic Church on catechesis[1], the vision of Family Faith Formation(FFF) is a system of catechesis that:
Supports lifelong faith formation, the chief form of catechesis
Provides ongoing formation for parents, the axis around which revolves the catechesis of childhood
Supports parents in developing the domestic Church
Nurtures a strong, complete, and systematic catechesis for the individual and within families forming them in a living, explicit, and fruitful confession of faith
Provides six dimensions of faith formation including knowledge of the faith, liturgical life, moral formation, prayer, communal life, and missionary spirit
Provides development in the threefold dimension of word, memory, and witness (doctrine, celebration, and commitment in life)
Helps to build a vibrant parish community of faith and service
Mission
The Family Faith Formation program helps adults pass on the Catholic faith by providing catechesis for lifelong faith formation as well as high quality support, guidance, resources, and opportunities to associate with other families of Holy Ghost, Sacred Heart, and St. Mary of the Rosary.
